RATE CARD FALLS: Bollywood Beauties Suffer Further Setback Because Of Demonetisation
40 percent! Yes you read it right. That’s the dip in the earnings of many models and actresses who largely depend on events for their bread and butter
Bollywood is a tough place
to survive. From TV stars to established Bollywood actresses and starlets on
the lower end of the pecking order, all of them have to supplement their
incomes with paycheques that come from performances and appearances, be it corporate
events or weddings.
Everyone from TV’s sexiest star Nia Sharma to
Bipasha Basu and Chitrangada Singh, most celebs are on the market to make paid
appearances.

We had told you that PM Modi’s demonetisation move had put a huge dent in the incomes of these TV and Bollywod beauties.
Three months after that fateful announcement, these Bollywood beauties are still reeling from the impact.

An actress, requesting anonymity, told SpotboyE.com that the first effect was a significant drop in the number of assignments. A few months later, the scene has improved but here is the caveat.
The celebrities are booking jobs but their paycheques have been slashed by a good 40 percent. An actress who used to make Rs 20 lakh for an appearance, now only gets to take home Rs 12 lakh.
“How long will we sit at home, so we are forced to take whatever price they are offering us,” said the actress.

The biggest shocker is that cash has indeed returned to the market and once again the performers are being paid in cash, once again cutting out the taxman.
Once the rates have fallen, they will never recover, said another model who too did not want to be named.
“It will take me two years to get back to the price that I commanded pre-demonetisation. And I am getting older and this industry values youth more than anything else,” said the performer.
Sad but true!
